It's all a business calculation involving many factors. They understood that, and gave us 60 FPS. Similarly with FFXV, more action means FPS is more relevant. FXII is more action-paced, and they realized that it would benefit a lot more from higher FPS - which is why it's got 60 FPS right out of the box. 30 FPS is absolutely fine for X/X-2, and a very reasonable compromise. And turn-based RPGs are somewhere in the middle.

Call of Duty? Yes please, the more the better. Minesweeper with 60fps? I don't think so. They, unlike "you and others", understand that FPS isn't some universal factor but has varying degrees of impact on a game's visuals depending on what the game does.

It takes work to get, and as with any commercial product you have to think about how much work you want to put in for what you get out of it. They know more FPS is generally better - but that FPS doesn't just magically appear. They're not idiots, they have entire departments that think about these issues. Because we're smart enough to know that they *could* do something about it, but didn't.Apparently "you and others" also have no clue what FPS is all about. And that's why me and others are critical of 30fps lock on supposed "remasters" on PC.

They've done it in other games, why couldn't they do it in this one? I think it's not that they couldn't do it, but that they were lazy, and were seeking to shovel out a cash cow port with minimum effort.
